Thanks for the additional information! So far I've found the best way to get things working is to set the "Game Slot" to "Auto", and then each Just Dance game has its own special preferences on what it needs to run properly.
If you have any information on a possible pattern, I'd love to see it, as currently everything just follows a jumbled pattern.
AFAIK ModMii still lets you install Hermes, but it's very old (no updates since 2011) and unless you're using a very particular game mod you shouldn't need to install it over d2x.
For info about cIOS slots and bases and how they effect game compatibility, see this guide on GBATemp:

TL:DR; it seems that for Just Dance, you should try having an alternate slot set to base 57 and then telling USBLoader to use that slot for Just Dance. If you followed the wii.hacks.guide instructions when setting up d2x, then that should be slot 250.
