I wasn't talking about the golden plates, clearly those were destroyed or buried by Smith so that he could never be proven wrong. I was talking about the "holy scriptures" that he translated into the Book of Abraham, which were Egyptian papyrus scrolls thought to have been burned in a 1871 fire in Chicago. But fragments of the scrolls were rediscovered in a museum in 1967 and Egyptologists identified them as a copy of the Book of Breathings, an ancient manual on how to preserve corpses and speed the journey of the deceased to the gods and afterlife. It had nothing to do with Christ or Abraham, so Smith clearly made the whole thing up. And if he did that, who's to say he didn't also make up the Book of Mormon? You claim Smith's story was never changed and that the angel Moroni took the golden plates back to heaven, but in fact the angel's name was always Nephi in all of his accounts and was only changed to Moroni after he died. It made more sense, because it was Moroni who was alleged to have buried the plates in the first place. I'm not trying to piss on your cornflakes or anything, but evidently I know more about this subject than you think.

Our doctrine has never changed. Its only been added onto with the Pearls of Great Price and teh Doctrine & Covenants. As for those so called people who researched the golden plates. Where are the plates now? Aren't they in a museum? How come nobosy has any track record of this? Simple. As I stated once jospeh Smith was finished translating the plates, the angel Moroni took them back into heaven with him. But its nothing that you can really understand since you are basing all this based off of word of mouth and anti-mormon propaganda.
