I remember that.. however I also remember never receiving a virus from said popup. It was just a persistent one.
Ahem, memory may be a little fuzzy. Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong popup? :p But I don't think so.

If Vimm's ROMs ever had a virus in them, it'd be news to me. I've not once seen anyone post about being infected with a virus after opening up a file from here. In fact, ROM dumps and disk images alone are complete strangers to virus infections. :-)
Some time ago, there were reports of virus-infected pop-ups on this site, care of a company that paid Vimm to advertise them on his site. AFAIK, Vimm does not involve himself with that company any longer.
