Re: God would accept the way we are.

Except suicide is just about the same as murder only its just yourself. God does not want us to kill ourselves to be with him so early that we do not complete the test on earth. A test to prove our love for God. What man who loves god would kill himself knowning the teachings of the prophets the lord has sent? At my church there is a woman who tries to get to chrcuh as often as she can. SHe's about 60 something. the problem why she can't attend is because you can't walk. in fact her legs do not work period. the onyl way she can get to work is with the help of paramedics who drop her off and the other members of the church push he around in an extended wheelchair. She longs for the day for when she can walk again and she knowns it will be in Heaven. But you say why doesn't she just kill herself save her the pain and misery of the last 10 maybe 25 years of her life? Because she is not done living life. Nor is Pepsibeths son. Pepsibeth's son can probably do greaet things in his life and when he has lived a full life god will welcome him back with love give unto him the gift of a restored mind and body taht he lost coming to earth. You pointed out Hawkings. The man is freaking mute and compeletly immobile. Yet he created some of the most complex theroies the world has known and has the brightest intelluct the world has ever seen. Should he have killed himself to be able to walk and talk again and hang out with god we would have never recieve such awesome theories from him. "What me worry?"

I'd be pretty sad actually, knowing that my life here is meaningless and insignificant if I'm just a piece of crap compared to my "whole" self in heaven. It's like you're saying that people with problems or disabilities should just give up and live pointless lives only for the fact that they can dance around in heaven with God when they die and become superleet. Suicide should not be frowned upon; it's just a shortcut to God. It should even be encouraged for all people of faith, don't you think? "Mass suicides 1st of every month. All welcome, bring a friend or two."

I think a person with mental or physical handicaps can live a much more meaningful and evocative life than anyone with a "perfect" body... great hair, broad shoulders, straight spine, sharp reflexes, etc. Look at Stephen Hawking.
