Super Mario World is a side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo in 1990. When Mario goes on vacation, Princess Peach gets kidnapped and Mario must go through Dinosaur Land in order to rescue her from the evil Bowser.

When Kaizo and Puzzles Unite.

Hourglass Twist is a Super Mario World kaizo romhack that mixes those two styles mentioned (kaizo design and puzzles). As the player progresses in the game, they will find more kaizo elements, and more difficult puzzles. There is not a heavy glitch usage or obscure SMW quirks, but the players may need a bit of knowledge about SMW glitches to progress, but in case the player is well versed in SMW quirks, the game tries its best to explain everything through the message boxes.

This game features fast retry system (without the prompt), custom music, a group of QoL patches, custom palettes but mostly vanilla graphics, except for some blocks. This ROM hack is listed as Kaizo: Expert difficulty, following SMW Central’s difficulty scale.
