Re: Dreamcast games no longer working with GD Menu

I hate to ask this, but could someone explain the situation with GDI files? I’m new to Dreamcast emulation; I downloaded everything from the Dreamcast section just a few days ago, and then I saw the announcement stating that GDI files are no longer included... so I’m really confused. Are they necessary to play the games or not? What’s the difference? I just checked all the files I downloaded—every single one of them—and they all included the GDI file, except for two games. But all the others did have that file, and as I said, I finished downloading them just a few days ago. Do I need to go through the whole process and download them all over again?
I have used GD Menu Card Manager v2.0.1 with games from Vimms successfully before.
But now, I cannot get the program to accept any game file from Vimms.
The downloads from Vimms now extract to bin/cue - which GD MENU Card Manager does not support - But I've added plenty of games before.
Now when i point it to a .7z file downloaded from Vimms, I get an "ignored folders/files" error message.
has something changed? Any tips? Thanks
