I'm just a girl who's been a fan of all sorts of games for years and I just want to review this non-canonical and obscure game, so let's get to rating and reviewing!

Graphics: 8
First, the graphics! Unfortunately, there isn't much to rank here since it is a Game Boy game, so you kind of need to lower your expectations for graphics. However, the graphics are great for a Game Boy game! The quality is very similar to the original Kid Icarus, which somehow is a good thing! Some Game Boy games have horrible graphics while others have amazing graphics, and I believe Kid Icarus is one of the games with better graphics. So overall, I would give this an 8. Not the best game for graphics but one of the better ones!

Sound: 6
Next, the sound! If you were just listening to the soundtrack and not playing the game, I would rate this a little higher for parts of the music being on one earbud/headphone and other parts being on both, especially the Great Reaper's theme. But we're playing the game so you don't get sound like that since it's only one speaker. While the soundtrack is good, it's not that memorable. Sure, it sticks in your head for a few minutes, but after that, you mostly forget it and have to listen again to remember them, then the process repeats. So, this would get a 6, while the soundtrack is good, it's easily forgettable.

Gameplay: 8
Last but not least, the gameplay! This game solves the problem the original Kid Icarus had, the game was too difficult. However this game gives its own problem, the travel. Personally, I found myself getting lost in the game and a 10 minute level took 30 minutes for me because I got lost and didn't know where to go next, and that just makes the game a bit less fun. So in the end, it gets a 8. If you can find your way around, the gameplay is perfect and much better than the NES Kid Icarus difficulty-wise!

Overall: 9
With being able to get lost in a 2d game and a forgettable soundtrack, it's definitely not perfect. But it still has amazing graphics for a Game Boy game, a good soundtrack, and great gameplay, so if you can ignore the minor problems, which you probably can, this is a great game and I would actually recommend you to play this game to get an impression of the old Kid Icarus games, and I think this is better than the NES game! It's kind of funny how all 3 scores can add to this being the top! Ha, ha, ha!

Also, I find this game pretty strange. Between it being a lot like the NES game, and not even releasing in Japan, it's pretty weird. Also, people in Japan had to wait until 2004 for a new Kid Icarus game, which was just a remake of the first game!
