A mech shooting game where you use the Super Scope to fight other mechas to avenge the death of your father.
Fantastic game - easily one of the best (on par with Metal Combat, the sequel) SNES games out there, and certainly the best Super Scope game. Why play this? Simply put - it's a great game. The music really stands out in this one - each battle has a unique track that's quite catchy and even moving in some points. Worth a shot. Graphics: 8 The graphics were pretty nice for the time - the backgrounds were repetitive as you battled your opponents, but that didn't matter since it scrolled by so quickly :P The mech designs are great and varied. Sound: 10 The sound is simply perfect. The music that plays for each opponent is stunning, and I STILL find myself humming the theme from when you fight the ST GARAM from time to time. So good, in fact, that I have a CD of the music I made in my car. Gameplay: 9 The gameplay is excellent. While its the same premise each fight, the enemies are varied enough to offer up a decent challenge. Sadly, this game (unlike its sequel, Metal Combat) offers up no multiplayer option. Also, once the game is beat, there isn't much replay value. Overall: 10 In spite of little replay value (sans that for me, I played this when I was 8 and still come back to it from time to time), the game is a great play if you're looking for some mecha action. On top of that, the soundtrack is simply stunning. A must have. Played this game when I was a kid, loved it to death. The music makes it very memorable to me. |
