This will be a (slightly biased) review of Rhythm Tengoku Gold (or Rhythm Heaven... or Rhythm Paradise... or Rhythm Sesang-)
Graphics: 8 They ain't the best the DS got, but damn, they're good. The game is mainly 2D (with some games being 3D) and sprite/pixel based. Sound: 10 We need to study Tsunku and the rest of the development team, because HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS GOOD SOUNDING MUSIC ON A DS?!? Genuinely, go listen to the in-game rips of the OST. Thank me later. Gameplay: 7 Now, the "holding a DS like a book" thing and tapping, flicking and even sliding the stylus across the bottom screen with the top one showing the actual game might throw you off, but it's executed pretty well. Just remember to use the R button for Rockers 2. Thank me later. Overall: 9 It isn't the best DS game I've ever played, but man, it's a superb experience. I highly recommend it for any rhythm game fan. And there's a buttons mod for the game online, so PC gamers rejoice! Don't rage quit on Rhythm Rally 2 or Remix 8, okay? |
