| Hello, I'm Jack and I will be reviewing the *most likely* No. 1 controversial sentry in the Smash Brothers series. This game is a love and hate relationship type game. Honestly it took advantage of the Wii in a lot of ways but also had some rather disliked features *ahem tripping* but anyways on to the graphics.
Graphics: 8 As I mentioned earlier, this game took advantage of the Wii in many aspects, and graphics were one of those things. For being on a console with major hardware limitations, it looks pretty nice! It does have a bit of a darker color palette compared to the previous installments and even the future Smash Bros Ultimate for Nintendo Switch, but it does give it it's own personality. Sound: 7 Not much to say; not my favorite soundtrack, but I can see it being appealing to others. Voice acting is alright, and that is all I have on sound. Gameplay: 8 It is very fun to play, but I feel like it tried appealing to casual players more than competitive players because, well, the Wii was for everyone, but it made it a bit tedious to play competitively compared to Melee. Another thing is the basic meta (similar to melee) was M E T A K N I G H T, and just when competitive play was on the floor, they messed with items and basically killed Smash Bros competitive untill SSBU came out. Also TRIPPING> not fun. Overall: 8 I want it to be 7.5 but that is not an option. Definitely a fun game to play, but it is often overlooked because of it trying too hard to be its own thing. I would recommend this too people who either REALLY LIKE smash bros, someone who only has a Wii, or to someone who hates themselves and fun at the same time! :D |
