Ah, 1998. Everything was just fine back then: the Nintendo 64, the PlayStation, the Dreamcast, and your brand new copy of Gex: Enter the Gecko. The memories I have of this game are fond and often hilarious to the point of passing out from lack of air.

Graphics: 7
While the Graphics weren't the greatest around for its' time, they were decent enough where I could tell what it was I was looking at and grabbing. Sure, the collectibles were pixelated but they had a decent amount of detail added to them, especially with the spinning sprites.

Sound: 8
The sounds of the game were great, at least in my opinion they were, though who was really listening to the music or sound effects? I recall everyone who came to my house to play Gex automatically jump into the flames to hear Gex say "Is it just me or am I ENGULFED IN FLAMES?!"

Gameplay: 9
While the gameplay wasn't perfect, it was still pretty good even though the wall crawling sections were a bit iffy. Not much can be said about this though while I do enjoy the idea of the wall crawling sections, the execution was poor. The rest of the gameplay, however, is alright by me. I especially enjoy bouncing around with my tail like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh.

Overall: 9
Overall, I give this game an excellent rating because it did help set standards for the 3D Adventure Platformers we have today (if any are still left) and it did still have some gameplay I'd come back to.

I would recommend giving this game a chance if you haven't already, and if you have: Get it again. Do it. Right now. Stop reading. GO!
