| We all know of the incredible start and rise of the Madden franchise, but also of the infamous fall to mediocrity and some years even worse. We also all know of the agreed upon knowledge that the early years were the best but I am certain that this is the peak. After revisiting this game I believe we would all prefer EA to just re-release 07 again just with updated rosters and a slight face-lift. Fore one, it all just works well but even more so its got the peak soundtrack of the franchise with a good mix of hip-hop and rock while also having the best realization of all its different modes. If you want to really see how far Madden has fallen, go back and play its highest mountain of fun.
Graphics: 8 For its time, it achieves exactly what was expected of a sports game while pushing forward a bit. Not as good as the best of more graphic centered genera's, but still well done. Sound: 10 When you play a sports game you are looking for good contact sounds, some vocals done for players, and a good set of songs for the soundtrack. Not only does this year of madden check all these boxes but it hits the peak of the franchise, I would go as far as say its right up there with the Tony Hawk franchise. Gameplay: 9 After coming back to 07 from 23, I feel like I can honestly say this is my favorite gameplay of the franchise. There is still stuff that could be improved and there gave been occasional tweaks other games in the franchise have made that would be interesting added onto this one, which is why I wouldn't put it down as perfect but I really do think it achieves excellent. Overall: 9 I think there is still room for a perfect Football game, but especially with how well all the modes are done in this year of Madden, I really believe this is probably the best. Definitely worth giving this Madden a shot for the nostalgia, single player content, and to remind us how far the franchise has fallen. |
