You really can't go wrong with a Technos game. They came out with River City Ransom, Super Dodgeball, and a few other games. Here is one called Technos Samurai, and it is actually pretty awesome.
Graphics: 9 The graphics were excellent for feudal Japan; a great balance of colour, there was a perfect distribution of objects per screen. There is only one complaint. All of the character sprites were ripped from RCR. They were the same people, (The main character was Alex's sprite) but they were outfitted in the wears of 1800's Japan. Sound: 10 I absolutely loved the battle soundtrack and the town music was good too. The kind of music that you can listen to without turning down the volume is a good soundtrack. Gameplay: 8 The gameplay was basically River City Ransom (I know I'm making a lot of references): You run around screens beating up guys, go into stores (there were a lot of food shops in this game) and buy crap, but there was something different about this one. The game bots swear at you! I was just minding my own business, beating up some guy and he calls me a "D**kweed!" I was shocked, considering that this is the most intense word to come out of my NES. It didn't stop there! It said @#$%, p*ss, and more stuff! This is probably the 1st NES game to actually swear at you. Overall: 9 This game is fun to play, listen to, and fun to laugh at the phrases the guys yell at you. I would try this game for fans of River City Ransom, Technos games, or anyone who likes a classic brawler. |
